Cairns Sun Doesn't Fade Every Panel Equally
Paint fades faster under Cairns sun than it does in a temperate climate. It also doesn't fade evenly. The roof and bonnet take more direct sun than the doors and rear quarters, so the colour drifts panel to panel over time rather than shifting uniformly.
A full respray strips the vehicle back to bare panel and prepares every surface to the same level. The colour goes on in one controlled pass across the whole vehicle — not section by section — which is what keeps the finish consistent rather than slightly varied between panels. A UV-resistant clear coat goes on last, built to handle another few years of Queensland sun. Most full resprays follow on from significant panel beating, and any smaller touch-ups needed afterwards run through spray painting. If a full respray's on your radar, call 0432 437 710 and we'll talk through what the job looks like for your vehicle.

What Goes Into a Full Respray
- Full paint strip and even surface preparation
- Rust treatment and dent removal
- High-build primer and block sanding
- Whole-vehicle colour application in one pass
- Cut and polish to a mirror finish
- Reassembly and quality sign-off

The Prep Stage Is Where a Respray Either Holds or Doesn't
Resprays finished to a loose standard at the prep stage tend to show it within a year, once Queensland sun gets to work on whatever wasn't levelled out properly underneath. Every panel gets prepared to the same standard here — including the ones that already look fine before the job starts.
