The Finish Is Only as Good as What's Underneath It
Two vehicles rarely need the same amount of spray work. One might need a scuff blended into a door panel, and the next might need every panel stripped and resprayed top to tail. What stays constant is the process: the surface gets prepared properly, the colour's levelled against the original paint code and adjusted for fade, and the paint goes on in a controlled space where humidity and temperature are kept in check. That last part matters more in Cairns than it does further south — tropical humidity slows paint curing and can affect how the clear coat sits if booth conditions aren't managed properly.
We keep a close eye on that through the wet season especially. Most spray work here follows straight on from panel beating, and if you're after a complete colour change rather than a repair, our full vehicle resprays go into more detail. What Goes Into Every Spray Job
- Paint code matching and fade assessment
- Surface preparation and masking
- Application in a humidity-controlled booth
- Clear coat and finish inspection
Booth Conditions Aren't a Detail — They're the Job
Booth conditions get overlooked more than most other steps in a respray, and they matter more here than they would somewhere cooler and drier. We check humidity and temperature through the whole application, particularly during the wet season when it's easy for those numbers to drift without anyone noticing.
